Sadly we are having to postpone our trip. We are nearly packed, have done over 1,600km of training rides, have a route planned, ferry, flight and accomodation booked........
However, Geoff has been having attacks of vertigo and until it is sorted his GP has strongly advised against doing the ride.

So watch this space.......

About 25 days to go now and training is going well - we're cycling about 250km a week. The planning of the route is nearly finished with some accommodation booked.
Several people have asked us if we are being sponsored, and, after careful thought, we have decided that we will raise money for Cancer Support France - Sud de France and La Ligue Contre le Cancer (more about this later).
Just checking that I can post stuff on the blog!!

Preparing for the trip

Sometime during the winter, probably over a glass of wine in front of the poele, Geoff and I decided that it would be a great idea to cycle from Cherbourg to the Med. Most of you will think that we are mad ....but it is something we both wanted to do.
We have invested in Ridgeback World Explorer touring bikes, and are currently "in training" for the big ride.
We start our ride on 7th September - only 34 days to go!!
